We were saddened to learn that Senator Edward Kennedy had lost his battle with brain cancer. A true statesman and venerable lion of the Senate, his voice will be sorely missed in the debates surrounding health and social welfare.
While we may have differed with the Senator on points of policy, we never doubted his commitment to ideological goals. We always admired the passion and energy he brought to every debate, and the determination he always showed in the face of obstacles and adversity.
Our prayers are with his family. We hope that the
warm thoughts and prayers of many other Americans helps to sustain
them at this difficult time.
